Construction of a multi-temperature warehouse complex MARR RUSSIA is completed in Odintsovo near Moscow

On 3 February, MARR Russia, a subsidiary of Italy's Inalca group, opened a new multi-temperature warehouse built by PSO-13 in the Moscow region.

The opening ceremony was attended by Teresa Bellanova, Minister of Agriculture of Italy, Luigi Cremonini, Chairman of the Board of Inalca, Luigi Scordamaglia, CEO and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Inalca, Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, Vadim Khromov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government and Yury Vorotnin, General Director of PSO-13.

The warehouse has been built next to the existing MARR RUSSIA production and warehouse complex in Odintsovo near Moscow.

Twelve multi-temperature zones occupy the main volume of the building:

  • An 18 m wide receiving and picking area, with 25 loading and unloading docks and a 5 m high internal quick-lift gate;
  • Dry storage area with a fixed temperature of +18;
  • Four cold storage areas for chilled products. Each zone can be kept at any temperature between 0 and +10 degrees;
  • Four low temperature zones with -21 degrees;
  • Two low-temperature zones with mobile shelving.

Total storage capacity of 33 000 pallet places, product range of 8 500 SKU. Total building area 22,838 m².

A boiler house with BUDERUS dual fuel boilers, a diesel generator set and a fire extinguishing pump station with fire tanks were built on site.

The client wanted to build a warehouse of the maximum possible size on a complex plot with weak soil, high groundwater level and several encumbrances: a high-voltage power line placed next to the plot, a main electricity cable and a municipal sewer go through the plot.

As early as at the tender stage, PSO-13 specialists developed a concept with optimal use of the plot area, promptly worked out and removed all doubts of the client regarding design solutions, proposed a clear and transparent financing scheme with a clear construction budget and guaranteed a VAT refund.

MARR RUSSIA representatives noted the high qualification of the engineering staff and coordinated interaction of structural subdivisions of PI-13, timely performance and high quality of work.

The client of the project is MARR RUSSIA, a subsidiary company of the large Italian holding INALCA. It specialises in distribution and production of food products in the HoReCa and wholesale-retail sectors.

It serves more than 7,000 clients throughout Russia. These include the McDonalds and Burger King restaurant chains; Marriott, Baltschug Kempinski, Sheraton Palace, Hyatt and National hotels; and the METRO Cash&Carry, BILLA, X5, Dixy, Azbuka Vkusa and Magnit hyper- and supermarket chains.

Frozen or perishable products account for a large share of the product range: meat and processed meat, fish and seafood, vegetables, fruit and berries, mushrooms, cheese, confectionery and bakery products. The company produces about 80,000 tonnes of ready-to-cook meat products annually. It has its own fleet of 120 vehicles equipped with multi-temperature units.
