Description

BIOCAD is one of Russia's largest biotechnology companies. It produces 60 drugs for the treatment of oncological, autoimmune and infectious diseases. Products are manufactured at 4 owned pharmaceutical and biotechnology production sites in St. Petersburg and the Moscow region. The company employs around 2,500 people.

In 2020, PSO-13 completed construction of the 1st stage of the fifth, largest, BIOCAD plant in the @Technopolis Moscow@ special economic zone in Zelenograd.

Advanced technological and engineering solutions, unparalleled in Russia, were used in the project.  

At a site of 6.7 hectares, a single multifunctional building contains:

  • 2-storey production and laboratory block
  • Automated warehouse of 21.4 m height
  • Handling area
  • 3-floor administrative and household block
  • 2 checkpoints

 

Construction area 31,555.0 m. Total area of buildings and structures 42 975 m². The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, attended the opening of the plant.

 

Now PSO-13 has started Stage 2 of the fifth, largest, factory BIOCAD

The administrative block contains the reception, 2 lifts, a two-light recreation area, a health centre, a canteen, offices, a spacious conference room, meeting rooms and technical rooms.

The production and laboratory block houses wardrobes, production areas, laboratories, transformer substations, boiler room, cold centre, gas and water supply room, ventilation chambers, steam, purified air and water treatment facilities.

The high-bay storage unit of the automated type is divided into compartments according to temperature conditions. The dimensions of the block are 85.0 m x 78.0 m, and the height to the bottom of the trusses is 21.38 m.

The 3-storey logistics block contains a receiving area, control room, administrative and technical premises, premises for the storage of precursors and HFL, sampling areas and raw material weights.
 

Engineering infrastructure

To ensure the smooth operation of pharmaceutical production, the plant is equipped with facilities for the preparation of the following resources:

  • compressed air;
  • nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, argon;
  • laboratory-grade water (types I, II, III);
  • purified water;
  • still water;
  • injection water;
  • purified water;
  • steam.

All equipment used is fully automated and integrated into a single control system. The gas, steam and cooling equipment is hermetically sealed to avoid the release of hazardous substances into the working area air.
